Blippy error leaks credit card details online

A security error by the social networking website Blippy has resulted in several users’ credit card details being leaked online via Google searches.

At the end of last week it was discovered that such card details could be gleaned from the site through creative use of the search engine.
Blippy worked with Google to close the security hole and it seemed the problem had been dealt with.

However, other problems have since arisen and in a report released today (April 28th) in the Esperance Express, local radio host and Blippy user Josh Withers said his credit card details were leaked to Google at the weekend. <

When it comes to reward credit cards, there is no doubt that they have become one of the most popular types of plastic within the past couple of years. Credit Card Issuers’ Long Road Ahead

Regardless of keeping them or leaving them behind, many cardholders have decided to spend less with their credit cards. While stories are different for each cardholder that has ultimately made the choice to move to other ways of making payments, one thing they all have in common is the effect it has taken on credit card issuers and their dominance over the payments industry.

 

Because the cost of using credit cards have grown dramatically over the last year due to the raising of interest rates as well as increased or new fees, they have quickly become the priority of Americans. Unlike in the past where majority of cardholders carried around 3 to 5 credit cards on average many have found themselves with much fewer.

President Obama has had it with Wall Street’s shaky (and often unethical) financial practices that led us to (and perhaps kept us in) a crippling recession. His administration is currently pushing a Wall Street reform bill that will help overhaul the American financial system. After a filibuster and several other stalls from Republicans, the Senate unanimously agreed on Wednesday to begin a public debate on this. Obama says he hopes this reform bill passes quickly, and so do I.
