The terms and conditions that govern a credit card are very important. If you are unsure of the terms of your card something is wrong. Although you do not need to remember every last detail, most of them are very important. The good thing is that you can give yourself a “refresher course” in no time at all.

No matter what detail you are unsure of, you should check on it with your credit card company. For instance, maybe you do not know what your APR is on new purchases and balance transfers. Instead of guessing and hoping that you are right, it is better to call your credit card company and ask them to clarify. Along with this, you may be able to sign into your online account, if you have one, to find all this information.

In the past, before new laws were put into place, credit card companies would often times change terms and conditions on the fly. To make things worse, they did not always tell the customer exactly what was going on. If you think that your terms and conditions may have changed from what you first agreed to, it is essential that you confirm this. Again, it is better to be safe than sorry. Entirely too many people have gotten into trouble because they did not know the finer details of their credit card.

Don’t guess at the terms and conditions of your credit card any longer. You have the right to know the ins and outs of your card, and your company will be able to answer any and all of your questions.
