Most HAMP modifications will end in a re-default or foreclosure
Most Americans have managed to escape foreclosure and lower their monthly payments by modifying their mortgage loans, providing relief to many families. But most homeowners that received a mortgage modification loan are likely to re-default on their payments within a year, according to a recent report.
A recent Fitch Ratings study reveals that between 65 percent and 75 percent of homes modified through the federal Home Affordable Modification Program, but not backed by a federal agency, are likely to default on their mortgage loans within one year, CNN Money reports. Read full article…

While it’s true that not all online business involves credit cards, the vast majority of consumers are no longer willing to incur the trouble and expense of sending checks and money orders. By all means, keep these payment options — but if you want to succeed, you really must start accepting credit cards.

The annual fee paid on a credit card should be a key consideration when Australians come to weigh up the alternatives, it has been argued.
An article on Lifehacker.com.au notes that while it isn’t impossible to survive without a credit card, having one undoubtedly makes it easier to shop online. It also referred to the various benefits cards offer such as frequent flyer points.
“The key trick is to pay off the balance each month, and statistics suggest that Australians do that pretty efficiently,” added Lifehacker.
However, the article noted that even users who routinely pay off what they owe are likely to “get slugged” with an annual fee for the credit card. < Read full article…
