If you are like millions of Americans, then the gift of choice this holiday season could very well come in the form of a gift card. For issuers and retailers alike these are the type of things that they like to hear as experts are expecting for more than just the number of gift card to increase over that in 2008.

In a recent post entitled “Retailer Branded Gift Cards Expected to be Down”, we read a little about the prediction of experts when it comes to store specific cards. It seems that many people are looking for gift cards where the recipient can use the money more toward necessities than wants. Even while retailers may find the number of cards decreased there is still a very good reason for them to be optimistic. This is due to an annual holiday survey by the research company Deloitte.
